So, I wondered, since terrorists probably love their children as we do, what do they get their kids as gifts? What sort of toys teach the sorts of lessons that an enterprising terrorist would want their children to learn?

Well, as it turns out, it wasn’t as difficult to answer this question as one might think. In fact, in some cases you can even buy these toys in the US. Imagine the delight of parents everywhere when kids find THIS under the Christmas tree, eh?

ORLANDO, Fla. — A bag of candy shocked a local grandmother and will most likely shock you. The toy inside looks like a plane flying right into the Twin Towers. Now, that toy is off some local store shelves because of our story.

It doesn’t stop there, though. That grandmother was surprised, again, when she read the numbers imprinted on the toy.

Until Thursday afternoon, the little toys were on sale to kids around Central Florida — two towers with a jetliner in between that appears to be crashing into one of the buildings. They come in packages along with candy.

It’s not exactly a stretch to point out that there is absolutely no excuse for selling toys that celebrate the brutal murder of almost 3000 Americans- and yet the wholesaler who was selling the toys is pleading ignorance.

You’d think that someone would be on top of things enough to know what they were selling, right? After all, if you’re going to run a business, it’s tough to be an effective manager if you don’t know what your inventory consists of.

If it sounds like I’m not buying the company’s claims of ignorance, it’s because I’m not.

Sure, the wholesaler agreed to recall the candy containing the toys, but it took the detective work of a Florida TV station to bring this story to light. If it hadn’t, how long would they have continued to peddle this crap? OK, perhaps I’m a bit oversensitive about this, but having lost a friend and classmate in one of the World Trade Center towers, I think I’m entitled.

There ought to be a special place in hell for people like this. I’d like to send them there.
