Another DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener

Couple charged with public lewdness at the Alamo

DUMB@$$ AWARD wieners #156: Kristine Nissel & Matthew Hotard

OK, so I’d always thought that this was part of the tour. Apparently, I didn’t get the memo- nor did our latest DUMB@$$ AWARD wieners…and when it comes to wieners, it would seem that Ms. Nissel wasn’t snacking on a Ballpark Frank.

SAN ANTONIO — Tourists at the Alamo saw something besides historical exhibits at the shrine of Texas independence.

A couple who witnesses say were having sex Sunday at the downtown mission landed in jail, according to police.

An Alamo security officer caught the two having sexual intercourse near a public viewing area about 5:30 p.m., a police report stated.

The report said Kristine Nissel, 18, and Matthew Hotard, 19, were partially clad when the officer apprehended them after several tourists watched the couple and became upset.

I’m curious as to why these tourists would have any cause to become upset. Were they feeling left out? Were they angry because they weren’t invited to the party? Or were they simply jealous?

The pair, both active-duty members of the 232nd Medical Battalion stationed at Fort Sam Houston, were charged with public lewdness, according to today’s editions of the San Antonio Express-News. Bond was set for each at $800.

$800? I know what some of y’all are thinking: “Hell, I paid more than that for sex in MY time….”

Having been to the Alamo myself, I’m having a difficult time imagining where anyone would think they could have anything resembling privacy in broad daylight. Given that the Alamo is Texas’ most popular tourist destination, and given the layout of the place, privacy is not an easy thing to come by (no pun intended, of course). Then again, that is why Nissel and Hotard have proven there mettle as DUMB@$$E$.

If these are the folks that are supposed to be protecting my safety and security, the judge probably should have sentenced both of them to a cold shower in addition to the $800 bond.

Next time, kids, at least wait until dark. Ah, to be young and stupid….
