This will be a day devoid of the wit, wisdom, and blinding, overwhelming brilliance normally found in this space. I have Carnival fatigue. It’s apparently what happens when you’re up until 1am because you VOLUNTEERED to do this to yourself. I got perhaps four hours sleep Tuesday night, and my powers of concentration are….
….my powers of concentration….
….my powers of….
….my powers…ah, screw it. I’m a mess, I can’t think straight, and I make Ted Danson’s Becker look like Sister Mary Sunshine. I fell asleep during the first inning of the Yankees-Red Sox game. Yeah, if you can’t stay awake for Game 7 between the Yankees and Red Sox, you’re seriously sleep-deprived. I’m still dragging, but the experience was definitely worth it.
TPRS got 5,358 hits yesterday, and today looks like it will be a busy day as well. I suppose this is what happens when you get linked by Instapundit. On a normal day, TPRS gets perhaps 425-450 hits, so I was a bit overwhelmed by all of the attention…not that I’m complaining. As anyone who has a weblog will admit, you always want more readers; it’s nice to know that more people are paying attention to your work. I’m certainly no different- more is always better. Instapundit, on an average day, gets more hits than I have in the 3+ years that TPRS has been in existence. No, I don’t feel at all insignificant…why do you ask??? ;0)
It was definitely a worthwhile undertaking. For at least a short period of time, I get to be something resembling a center of attention. Living in enforced oscurity as I normally do, it was gratifying to have so many people paying attention to the work I put in to put this week’s Carnival together. Yes, it was a lot of work, and I lost a LOT of sleep. Even so, I would definitely do it again…just not this coming week. I need a nap.
