Two Arrested for Hurling Pies at Columnist
Normally, I would deplore this sort of behavior. Free speech, after all, can and often is objectionable speech. That is hardly anything new. If Ann Coulter actually had anything to say, I might actually defend her right to say it. Unfortunately, she’s a blowhard and a mean-spirited buffoon. In this case, it looks as if she got what she deserved.
TUCSON, Ariz. - Two men ran onstage and threw custard pies at conservative columnist Ann Coulter as she was giving a speech at the University of Arizona, hitting her in the shoulder, police said.
University police arrested the men but did not release their identities.
In her half-hour speech Thursday night, Coulter trashed Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry and derided liberals and Democrats while saluting conservative students who attended her speech.
I’d like to buy these two unidentified heroes a beer or six. Hey, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer person….
