It's a valid question....

We can debate why so many Americans are so stupid, but I’m not certain that is going to accomplish anything. For me, it’s not about stupidity as much as it is about wondering why so many Americans are so undemanding. Do they not realize what is being done in their name? Are they so ignorant of the world around them that they are willing to swallow the Administration’s propaganda without so much as a second thought? Apparently so.

We have become a nation of dolts so undemanding that we are collectively willing to believe that the war in Iraq is a war to protect our freedoms. I’d really like for someone to make a convincing argument as to how our freedoms were imperiled by anything happening in Iraq prior to the invasion. No, even if you are so inclined, you CANNOT use the “better to fight terrorists in the streets of Fallujah than the streets of New York” argument. The terrorists are in Fallujah, Mosul, Baghdad, etc. BECAUSE of our invasion. In essence, we are fighting a threat that we created. It’s just that most Americans are too dense and pumped too full of Administration propaganda to recognize this.

One of my favorite catchphrases is WE DESERVE BETTER, but I’m really beginning to wonder. I’m beginning to thank perhaps we have EXACTLY the quality of leadership we deserve. Until Americans can begin to think for themselves and pay attention to what is being done in our name, perhaps we deserve to be sacrificing our sons and daughters in a pointless, endless war of aggression.

When are we going to learn?
