And it couldn't have happened to a nicer demagogue, Chapter 18

Democrats still seeking DeLay challenger

Bush lauds Galveston’s retirement accounts

Bush offers boost to embattle DeLay

How sad is it when the President who pledged to return dignity and integrity to the White House is now championing the cause of Tom DeLay? What’s the difference here? Of course, silly…DeLay is a Republican, and- repeat after me- BEING A REPUBLICAN MEANS NEVER HAVING TO SAY YOU’RE SORRY.

George W. Bush blessed Galveston with his presence yesterday, and he took DeLay along for the ride. If nothing else, I suppose, this only goes to demonstrate how little Our Sainted President actually cares about dignity and integrity. That he is willing to overlook Rep. Medici’s- er, DeLay’s- predilection for corruption and demagoguery can and should be taken as an implicit Presidential endorsement of DeLay’s tactics. The moral of the story here? Clearly, ethics and integrity are truly only issues for Democrats, because in the final analysis Republicans are committed to neither. The bottom line is political power. Period.

Congratulations, America. You have EXACTLY the quality of representation you deserve. I hope you’re happy….
