All good things must come to an end

Tulsa, OK (3089 miles from Seabrook)

If all goes according to plan, by this time tomorrow night I’ll be home. After a week-and-a-half, I’m looking forward to getting back home and checking out the ol’ homestead. I dropped Susan off at the St. Louis airport this morning, and she’s already home and has called to verify that our home is intact and much as we left it. It’s been a great trip, I’ve had a lot of fun and done a LOT of driving. We got to see Adam and Eric again in their now native environments, and it was great to see them both happy and enjoying life.

I’m not sure that I would do another trip like this again, but give me a few months to forget how tiring it can be to drive 500-600 miles a day, and I might feel differently. This was an excellent chance for me to see parts of the country I never have before…one more thing crossed off my list. Now I can get started on buying that winning lottery ticket….

For those of you who think I’ve been completely out of touch, my reaction to Tom DeLay’s indictment yesterday was a resounding…

YESSSS!!!!!!

And it couldn’t have happened to a nicer demagogue….

To quote the immortal Mark Slackmeyer, DeLay is more than likely…

Guilty!!
Guilty!!
Guilty!!

Damn, the thought of Tom DeLay being someone’s b—-h gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. Ain’t karma a b—-h??

Funny how fast you condem the man... I mean, I know how long you've been loathing this guy, but can't we let the criminal system work it's magic first?

And if the trial gets thrown out or he is exhonerated, will you eat crow?

Oh, I forgot to mention. Hope you get home safe and sound and I'm glad you had a great trip. I had a good one myself, albeit much shorter and closer...

Don't worry; I'm sure your place is fine. Ours was! We got back from San Antonio Monday night and Seabrook looked pretty much the same, except for some downed branches and stuff.

My dad sent me the link to your site and boy, was I glad to find it! I moved to Seabrook from NYC in December and I'm not used to being the lone Democrat. It's nice to know I'm not the only leftie in this little town.

My dear Sphagnum, certainly you know enough about the liberal political play book to realize that it's not a matter of truth, guilt, or innocence. It's about how much political hay can be harvested before a verdict (or a dismissal).

The Peoples Republic of Austin hasn't been pursuing DeLay for years because he may have broken the law (although he may have...) They're after him for two reasons. 1: They can't seem to win the confidence (or votes) of the people. 2: DeLay is effective.

Oh Dear Bob~

I'm well aware, don't you worry :-D

I was just curious what the answer would be. So far none, eh maybe later...
