Another DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener

President says critics are wrong

Iran’s Ahmadinejad stands by anti-Israeli threats

My words are the Iranian nation’s words. Westerners are free to comment, but their reaction is invalid.

DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener #312: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

That Iran harbors a pathological hatred of all things Israeli is hardly news. Iran officially refuses to recognize Israel’s right to exist, and if you’re hoping to catch a flight from Jerusalem to Tehran…well, you’d best get an early start, ‘cuz you’re going to end up walking. Ever since the Israeli Air Force attacked an Iranian nuclear reactor in 1981, the official virulence directed towards Israel has been a constant drumbeat in Iranian political life. Support for the Palestinian cause is the political equivalent of the Hitler salute; whether or not one actually believes it is not as important as parroting the official line, because it’s what Iranians and their politicians are expected to do.

Of course, having a bogeymen such as Israel certainly helps the Iranian government in one way that no one in Iran’s government will ever admit. When your economy is a Third World basket case, and when you run what is still a tightly controlled and highly corrupt police state, being able to focus the hatred and virulence on The Threat Posed By Zionism…well, it certainly beats the hell out of having throngs armed with pitchforks and torches storming the Presidential Palace, eh? And President DUMB@$$ Ahmadinejad surely is intelligent enough to grasp that when Iranians stop hating Israel they just might start focusing their dissatisfaction and restiveness on their inept, ineffective government. Uneasy rests the head that wears the crown, no?

Nevertheless, a head of state calling for another state to be “wiped off the map” is simply beyond the pale. Is this simply another an example of political thuggery by the head of a Fundamentalist Islamic government, the rantings of a demagogue willing to incite a war to wipe out the adherents to a religion he so clearly despises? Or is it just some plain old DUMB@$$ theatrics engaged in be an inept political hack trying to ensure that he keeps the locals safely down on the farm, distracted from the real problems facing Iran? I don’t think I need to tell you what I think….

Tehran, Iran, Oct. 28 ‚Äö√Ñ√¨ Iran’s ultra-conservative President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad defended on Friday his statement earlier this week calling for the destruction of the state of Israel.

While attending a state-organised demonstration in Tehran during Qods Day, or Jerusalem Day, rallies along with thousands of hard-liners, Ahmadinejad told the state-run IRNA news agency, “It is natural that if a speech is correct and sound, it receives coverage and reaction.

The United States, Europe, Israel, and the Palestinian Authority have all denounced his comments that “Israel must be wiped off the face of the earth as unacceptable.

Ahmadinejad rejected international condemnation of his overt threat to the Jewish state. “They are free to talk, but their words lack any credit.

Thousands of hard-liners took part in Friday’s demonstration. Several dozen effigies of U.S. President George W. Bush and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon were set on fire as protesters chanted “Death to America, “Death to Israel, and “Death to Britain.

A number of Israeli and U.S. flags were also trampled on and burnt during the march.

Don’tcha just love zealotry? The complete disregard for those who think differently? The desire to trample the rights of those who choose a different path? Ah, but enough about Evangelical Conservative Republicans in this country, eh? Then again, I don’t recall even Rick Santorum calling for Democrats to be wiped off the map. President DUMB@$$ Ahmadinejad, of course, doesn’t have to worry about things like reason and moderation. When you have the Zionist bogeyman that you can invoke when the need arises to deflect attention from your own incompetence and leadership deficiencies, who needs reason and moderation? KILL THE ZIONIST SCUM!!!

I suppose that Iran and the US DO have one thing in common: both countries elected DUMB@$$E$ to their highest elective offices. Hmm…perhaps we have more similarities than I’d been willing to admit.
