And the knucKKKle-dragging troglodytes shall always be among us

Prop 2 brings KKK to Austin, to the dismay of both sides: Some question the Klan’s motives in entering debate on gay marriage

So what does it say about the supporters of Proposition 2 when the presence of the Ku Klux Klan make y’all seem the very voice and embodiment of reason? What does it say when those of y’all who would legislate your hatred into existence as the law of the Great State of Texas feel the need to repudiate the KKK for being “too extreme”? So, how do you spell “hypocrisy”?

The implied message being sent by those who support Prop 2 is that it’s perfectly justifiable by Scripture to hate someone because of their sexual orientation, but hating them because of their skin color is beyond the pale and simply not acceptable. One definition of hate is OK; another patently offensive? Am I the only one who sees the overpowering hypocrisy here? Surely, I’m not, but those who support Prop 2 seem to see no conflict in where they draw the line. What Would Jesus Do? Hell, he’d frog-march Da Gayz into Louisiana.

I don’t know about you, but from where I sit hate is hate- period. Whether it’s about who you sleep with, your political beliefs, or the color of your skin, it’s really all the same in the end. One group feels they have the moral and legal right to establish and treat another group as second-class citizens by legislating their hatred into the force of law. Too many people in the Great State of Texas, and indeed across the country, feel that their perceived moral and religious superiority gives them the right to subjugate a minority class that mostly just wants to be left alone to live their lives. There is no “homosexual agenda”, unless you consider wanting to live your life as you see fit as evidence that Da Gayz mean to undermine Our Way of Life. And Lord knows that gay marriage is such a pervasive problem in Texas. Lordy, Governor Goodhair and the Legislature have managed to solve all of Texas’s other pressing problems. Once we put Da Gayz in their place, the Lone Star State will become a virtual Paradise on Earth…as long as you’re a wealthy White Evangelical Republican. The rest of y’all can just go ahead and move to Californicate if you don’t like it here….
