Another DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener

Death threats at Galveston ISD lead to arrest

DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener #327: Fabian Lewis

That high school football is a MAJOR deal here in The Great State of Texas should surprise no one who knows the first thing about Texas. Over the years, Texas has been home to some seriously unbalanced adult behavior over various aspects of high school football. Yeah, adults…you know, the people we normally expect to be ROLE MODELS for their children. Yep, it truly amazes me that you need a license to hunt, fish, or own a business, but any dickweed with functional plumbing can make a baby…and then proceed to turn that baby over the next 18 years into prime fodder for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Galveston’s Ball High School had a good season on the gridiron, going 8-2 and qualifying for the Division 5A state playoffs…except for one little boo-boo. Somewhere along the line, when Ball’s Athletic Director was verifying the eliglibles of the football team’s players, one junior slipped through the cracks. The player was declared ineligible because he was living with someone other than his parents when he moved back into Galveston ISD back in May. Under Texas rules, that player should have been required to sit out a full year before regaingin eligibility. Because of that mistake, Ball’s football team was ordered to forfeit all of it’s games and was declared ineligible for the playoffs…and this is where our DUMB@$$ comes into the picture:

GALVESTON - A Texas City man turned himself into Galveston ISD police this afternoon to face charges he made death threats against the school district’s athletic director and former athletic director.

Fabian Lewis, 38, is charged with two counts of making terroristic threats against a public servant. His bond was set at $20,000.

Galveston ISD Police Chief Mark Smith said Lewis made at least three calls to the district administration building after Athletic Director Brent Jaco announced earlier this month that the Ball High School football team had been eliminated from state playoffs because one player was ineligible….

Smith said the charges against Lewis are based on a phone call threatening the lives of Jaco and former athletic director Sandra Mader.

The police chief said that Lewis did not have kids going to Ball High and didn’t even claim to be a big fan. Lewis indicated that he made the threatening calls after talking to other people who were upset, Smith said, and apparently thought some of them would be making similar calls.

Uh…so Lewis decided to beat the rush? WTF? I could perhaps understand if Lewis went over the edge because he had a a child on the football team, or if he was a former Ball player devoted to the team. No, apparently Lewis just went apeshit simply because…well, because that’s what DUMB@$$E$ do, I guess. Yep, nothing quite like setting an example for the young ‘uns, eh??

Yessirre…my business is DUMB@$$E$- and business is GOOD….
