It’s a lesson that’s taught on the very first day of Demagogue School: IF YOU’RE GOING TO PORTRAY YOURSELVES AS A “FAMILY VALUES” CANDIDATE, MAKE CERTAIN YOUR OWN MORAL HOUSE IS IN ORDER. It would seem the Jeff Miller either skipped the first day altogether, or somehow managed to sleep though this lesson. This wasn’t on the final…I think the instructor figured that it was such a self-evident, common-sense point that testing on it would have been pointless. Yeah, well…in most cases that would be a safe assumption, but in the case of our latest DUMB@$$, assuming anything merely (to paraphrase a Canadian Boy Scout leader I once knew) makes an “ass” out of “u” and “me”.
I’m not concerned about Miller’s divorce. Or his extramarital affair. Or his rampant anti-gay positions. Or his extra-marital affair. Or his two-faced, self-serving duplicity. All these things do is demonstrate what a complete and total DUMBA$$ Miller is. But when he threatens the local media covering the divorce of an elected official as a legitimate news story, THAT is where I draw the line. Of course, being a “family values” Republican, he knows that freedom of speech is all well and good, but loose lips really DO sink ships.
Of course, there are those who are even MORE impressed with Miller’s lying, duplicitious nature than I am:
You’re a fighter. You didn’t hide out in your office when your brother came out as a homosexual. Instead, you fought back by growing a beard, having an extra-marital affair, and sponsoring legislation to institutionalize discrimination against homosexuals. It was a smart move—no one would ever expect a bearded, homophobic, philanderer of being anything other than heterosexual.
I’m glad to hear that you haven’t stopped fighting. You aren’t letting the Bradley News Weekly get away with publishing an article that embarrassed you. While it may have upset your wife when you brought your girlfriend (the other woman) with you to sign your divorce settlement papers, the newspaper was wrong to point out the irony of an activist Christian politician doing such a thing. Your bullying of their advertisers is completely justified. They deserve to be threatened by a public official. It will teach them to respect the power of the state….
You will like it in Iraq. You’ll feel right at home now that the Shia religious parties are in control. After all, they too grew beards and persecuted homosexuals to prove their heterosexuality.
Now that you’re free, you might also consider marrying that girlfriend of yours. You can have sex then. I think you’ll like that too.
Yes, I really it’s not easy being a “family values”, anti-gay, pro-war, Christian, pro-Bush Republican. So much moralizing, so little time to pass judgement on those who don’t meet your standards of purity and Godliness. I know; if only more of us could follow Miller’s shining example…’course, I have no real desire to sneak around on my wife, so I guess that would eliminate me, eh? I suppose I’ll just have to roast in Hell with all the rest of the Liberal, bleeding-heart, inclusive, everyone-has-validity Democrats. Damn….
Never mind the fact that their really should be a very special place in Hell for a lying, cheating, hateful ignoramus like Jeff Miller….
