So, for almost three years we've had a "Strategy for Defeat"?

  • The Call, “The Walls Came Down”

More than two and a half years after proclaiming the end of major combat operations, Our Glorious Leader yesterday annouced his “National Strategy for Victory in Iraq”. OK, y’all, repeat after me:

WTF????

If the Prevaricator in Chief is just now coming up with a victory strategy in Iraq, THEN WHAT THE HELL HAVE WE BEEN DOING THERE FOR ALMOST THREE YEARS AND 2,100 DEAD AMERICAN SOLDIERS? Isn’t it about time that we WAKE UP AND SMELL THE CAT LITTER??

All this “strategy” amounts to just another attempt at propagandizing the American sheeple into believing that the clusterf—k in Iraq is actually accomplishing something beyond needlessly murdering a parade of young Americans.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - President Bush gave an unflinching defense of his war strategy on Wednesday, refusing to set a timetable for U.S. troop withdrawals and asserting that once-shaky Iraqi troops are proving increasingly capable. Democrats dismissed his words as a stay-the-course speech with no real strategy for success.

Bush recalled that some Iraqi security forces once ran from battle, and he said their performance “is still uneven in some parts.” But he also said improvements have been made in training and Iraqi units are growing more independent and controlling more territory.

“This will take time and patience,” said Bush, who is under intense political pressure as U.S. military deaths in the war rise beyond 2,100 and his popularity sits at the lowest point of his presidency.

If this sounds angry, it’s because I am. I am angry that after three years of stumbling blindly and 2,100 dead Americans, Our Glorious Leader is just now putting forward a “Strategy for Propagandizing the Sheeple Victory in Iraq”. I am angry that for almost three years now, our troops have been stuck in Vietraq without a plan, with inadquate equipment, and with no exit strategy. I am angry that so many on the Right still insist that this is a fight to protect and preserve American security, that Americans are dying to “protect our freedoms”. I am angry that this Administration has fought to keep photographs of flag-draped coffins out of the media, as if “out of sight” equates to “out of mind”.

Yes, I am angry. Frankly, if you’re not, you simply not paying attention.
