Perry has commanding lead in governor’s race in survey
AUSTIN - Gov. Rick Perry has nearly twice the support of his Democratic and independent challengers despite lacking a signature achievement in the minds of many voters, according to a newspaper poll released Saturday…. Another possible concern for the governor: When asked what Perry’s most important accomplishment was during his five-year administration, 70 percent couldn’t name any.
Ultimately, this poll only speaks to how lazy and undemanding Texans can be when it comes to statewide politics. Here you have a governor with no definable accomplishments - certainly none any of the voters can think of - and yet he commands a 2-1 lead in the early polls. WTF?
What’s the moral of the story, then? Well, here in Texas you really don’t actually have to DO anything. You just have to be a Republican and look good doing whatever it is you’re not doing. Governor Goodhair certainly has that part down pat.
