WASHINGTON - President Bush confronted his own image Thursday in the form of a bust of himself at the National Guard headquarters. Bush, who served as a fighter pilot in the Texas Air National Guard at Ellington Field in Houston, viewed the unveiling of a bronze bust presented in his honor before his speech to the National Guard Association.
WTF? Our Glorious Leader used his connections to get a National Guard slot to avoid having to go to Vietnam. He doesn’t even complete his service honorably, and he’s honored with a bust that commemorates his “service” in the National Guard? Has this country’s standards of service and honor really sunk to the point where a mediocrity such as George W. Bush is honored for being a no-show for the minimal commitment required for service in the National Guard? Apparently so…and honestly, this sickens me. 58,000 died in Vietnam, and Our Glorious Leader is honored for service he couldn’t even honorably complete? Unbelievable….
