Feingold draws little support for censure of Bush
- Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN)
- Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI)
It should come as no surprise that Sen. Russ Feingold is getting so little support. Finally, a Democrat in Washington displays a functioning set of cojones and an operational sense of outrage, and about all he gets is the Democratic “deer in the headlight” blank stare. Surely, you’re not expecting us to actually support a resolution of censure against Our Glorious Leader? Why, one can only imagine with the Republicans will do to us!! Oh, my…if only I had a heart…or some moral courage….
Imagine this scenario, if you will. A Democrat finally decides that enough is enough. He’s tired of Our Glorious Leader acting as if is ruling a constitutional monarchy. so he decides to introduce a resolution to both recognized and censure Our Glorious Leader’s immoral and illegal behavior. You’d think that this would be the sort of thing that his fellow Democrats could get behind. After all, many of them recognize that Our Glorious Leader’s warrantless wiretapping program is illegal and have said so in no uncertain terms.
Guess what, though? Many of these Democrats are just too scared to do anything but engage in rhetorical gamesmanship. Few, if any, of these folks actually possess the moral courage to do the right thing and get behind Feingold’s censure resolution. What a collection of spineless weenies. No wonder we’re the minority party, eh?
