Mr. Happy goes to Washington

Less popular than Stalin!

Cheney: Iran must not have nuclear weapons

Bush’s number 2 man, Dick Cheney, is less popular than former Soviet leader Joseph Stalin. In a recent poll only 18% of Americans had a favorable view of the vice president. A 2003 poll showed that 20% of Americans viewed the genocidal Russian as a “wise and humane” leader…. Cheney has even managed to fall below kid-toucher Michael Jackson, who still had the hearts of 25% of Americans as recently as June 2005.

Those of us who detest Our Glorious Leader and everything he stands for had best be praying for his continued good health. Short of impeachment hearings (like THAT’S going to happen) and a conviction, we’re stuck with the Prevaricator in Chief, unless he were to suffer an unfortunate early demise. If that happens, we’re stuck with perhaps the least popular politician to come along since Jean-Claude Duvalier.

As the master of the blindingly obvious, though, Cheney seems to have no peer. Of course, no one wants Iran to have a nuclear weapon. Coming out and essentially threatening Iran, however, is not going to do anything to improve the situation. It certain is a decent PR move though, making it look as if this Administration means business. Hey, we took out Iraq, and we’ve got 130,000 troops right next door. We can take out your sorry @$$ just as easily. Capice?? Or, as mi compadre Sean-Paul Kelley puts it,

The current talk about Iran is meant to do one thing and one thing only: distract the shallow American media from the very real weaknesses this administration has.

If you can’t run on your merits, you might as well find a sabre you can rattle, eh? Besides, once the war in Iraq plays out, Our Glorious Leader’s never-ending road show that is The War on Terror has to go somewhere, eh? If there is one thing this Administration understands, it’s that if you can keep the American sheeple scared, you can get away with just about anything in the name of Homeland Security.

Yes, it’s going to be tough to hold the thugs in the White House accountable when the American sheeple are preoccupied with thoughts of 9.11. And it’s not as if the mainstream media is inclined to question the motives of Bush, Cheney, and the thugs and criminals who make their reign possible.
