Republican talk of “activist judges” is causing death threats against Supreme Court justices

Gee, what a shock, eh? With all the Right-wing caterwauling about “activist Liberal judges”, can anyone reasonably claim to be surprised that there are more than a few delusional nutjobs out there feeling justified in threatening to attack judges for their evil ways?
And isn’t “activist judge” merely Right-wing code for those jurists who rule in ways that pisses of the Relgious Right? For far too long now, Conservatives have whined and moaned about judges who issue rulings BASED ON LAW and not on Conservative ideology. Their thinly-veiled attempts to influence and intimidate judges who, when last I checked, are supposed to be impartial arbiters of this nation’s legal tradition simply reveal them as the mean-spirited trolls they truly are.
How long will it be before a sitting judge, whether on the Supreme Court or elsewhere on the federal bench, is assassinated to “set an example”? Not soon enough for most Conservatives….
