Operation Coathanger

Here’s an opportunity to express your dismay with South Dakota’s Governor, Mike Rounds, for signing the most draconian post-Roe v. Wade anti-abortion legislation enacted by any state. With the stroke of his pen, Rounds blew up any remaining chance of finding something resembling middle ground on abortion. No longer can the Religious Right portray themselves as reasonable people willing to work towards a solution. No, the evidence is clear: this is the first frontal assault on Roe v. Wade, one crafted specifically to make it’s way to the Supreme Court, where the Religious Right is counting on a favorable reception. So much for “settled law”, eh??

Please take advantage of this opportunity to express your outrage. Send your coathangers to Gov. Rounds at this address:

Office of the Governor
500 E. Capitol Avenue
Pierre, SD 57501

Or you may call him at 605.773.3212.

If you prefer, you can email him here.

Just do something. If good and decent people don’t register there outrage, what chance do we have of maintaining the legal precedent that is Roe v. Wade?
