Controversial ‘Nude Britney Spears Giving Birth’ Sculptor Daniel Edwards Featured on Entertainment Podcast

Just when you could be forgiven for thinking…nay, hoping and praying…that there was NOTHING else that former DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener Britney Spears could possibly do to overexpose her already overexposed self…. Well, just feast your eyes on this work of art: ‘Nude Britney Spears Giving Birth’…to a space alien, no doubt. Now, this precious moment in our nation’s cultural history is preserved for all eternity, and I, for one, want to gouge my eyes out say “Thank you!” on behalf of a grateful nation.

The scultpture, a ghastly thing to begin with, is made even more tasteless by the imagery created by Spears on all fours while grabbing a bear’s head. I suppose we should all be grateful that the picture is from Britney’s head looking back and not from the other end. Oh my God…how long is it going to take to get THAT image out of my head?

And, as if all if this wasn’t bad and tasteless enough, the sculpture is being touted as a pro-life “monument”. Man, are these folks so desperate that they have to resort to something so utterly tasteless and gaudy to further their narrow, intolerant agenda?

Sculptor Daniel Edwards, who this week announced a controversial sculpture dedication ‘Nude Britney Spears Giving Birth’ at Capla Kesting Fine Art in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg gallery district, is one of many entertainment guests who have been interviewed on the Christopher Simmons Entertainment Podcast. Simmons is an award-winning journalist, musician, digital artist, and a member of PRSA and ASCAP.

The clay sculpture features a nude Britney Spears on a bearskin rug while giving birth to her firstborn because, according to Edwards, pop-star Britney Spears is the “ideal model for Pro-Life.” His latest sculpture is the subject of a dedication at Capla Kesting Fine Art in what is proclaimed the first Pro-Life monument to birth, in April. The dedication includes materials provided by Manhattan Right to Life Committee. “Monument to Pro-Life” is on view April 7th thru 23rd with a reception for the dedication April 7th from 6:00 - 9:00pm at Capla Kesting Fine Art, 121 Roebling St., Brooklyn, NY (information: www.send2press.com/mediadrome/2006-03-0322-003.txt ).

Thanks, but I’ll have to pass. I found this killer velour painting of four dogs playing poker and I really need to find a place to hang it in our trailer….
