Another DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener

McKinney Decries ‘Inappropriate Touching’ by Capitol Police

McKinney Says Police Officer Touched Her ‘Inappropriately’

WASHINGTON - Rep. Cynthia McKinney accused a Capitol Police officer of “inappropriate touching” on Friday as rumors flew around Capitol Hill that the Georgia Democrat would be arrested for her role in a bizarre physical altercation…. While McKinney asserted her innocence, her lawyer said she was “just a victim of being in Congress while black”.

DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener #371: Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (D-GA)

I realize that I’m running the risk of being branded a racist here. Such is the state of race relations in this country. Believe me, though, when I tell you that Cynthia McKinney would be a DUMB@$$ if she were White, Red, or Green. This is not an issue of color, nor of partisan affiliation. No, it’s an issue of a DUMB@$$ with an inflated ego and overdeveloped sense of importance playing the race card in order to excuse her inappropriate behavior. Period.

I’ll start by saying that I don’t know exactly what happened between Rep. DUMB@$$ McKinney and the Capitol police officer. The only two who do are McKinney and the officer. IF this was a simple case of mistaken identity, it could and should have been easily and reasonably resolved once the officer was able to establish McKinney’s identity. A simple apology should have sufficed, since the officer was merely trying to do his job. Unfortunately, McKinney, being the warrior for racial justice that she is, could hardly pass up the opportunity to fight The Good Fight. That her righteous indignation was likely a smoke screen to cover her inappropriate actions hardly seems to matter in the African-American court of public opinion. All that matters is that this is yet another case of The Man Trying To Keep Us Down.

McKinney, speaking at a news conference where she was joined by singer Harry Belafonte and actor Danny Glover, said she understands that a case against her may be referred for prosecution but declared that she will be exonerated.

“Let me be clear: This whole incident was instigated by the inappropriate touching and stopping of me, a female black congresswoman,” McKinney said. “I deeply regret that this incident occurred.”

Interesting, isn’t it, how McKinney’s first reaction is to hold a press conference at historically-black Howard University, where she would be assured of enjoying the embrace of a crowd only too willing to accept her side of the story at face value. Then she takes the stage with Harry Belafonte and Danny Glover…can you say “stage managing”? Isn’t trotting out the media whores the first sign that you have a problem?

Belafonte and Glover may simply be standing up for what they feel is right. This is America, and they are certainly free to do so. When you willingly participate in spin, AND when you willingly participate in McKinney’s masterfully playing the race card, you’re being played. How long before the slave analogies are trotted out?

James W. Myart Jr., one of McKinney’s attorneys, said he will seek an investigation against the officer, who has not been identified.

“Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, like thousands of average Americans across this country, is, too, a victim of the excessive use of force by law enforcement officials because of how she looks and the color of her skin,” he said.

Yes, there is an element of truth (in the global sense) to this argument. However, what about the very real possibility that the police officer simply did not recognize McKinney and was doing his job by asking for identification? Congress expects to be protect from the threat of terrorists or unauthorized intruders, and yet when an officer is merely doing his job, he’s excoriated as a racist and a misogynist? Yep, just another jack-booted thug with a plantation mentality, eh?

McKinney, as a Congressperson, has immediate access to the media, so she’simps able to frame the argument in a manner that paints her as the innocent victim of state oppression and racial prejudice. The fact that she herself may have acted inappropriately seems to have been completely lost in the sturm und drang.

From where I sit, the only conclusion I can reasonably draw is that McKinney is an idiot AND a DUMB@$$. Yes, she’s a Democrat, but we have our share of idiots, morons, and reprobates on our side of the aisle- and this is hardly McKinney’s first brush with reality.

If there is one thing that Cynthia McKinney is particularly skilled at, it’s rallying her (African-American) troops and playing the race card. This makes her no less of a demagogue than those Republicans who use Christianity to defend their self-interested, judgemental, hateful policy positions. Same idea, different bludgeon. McKinney will come out of this looking like a hero to African-Americans ly because she has a forum not available to the Capitol police officer. Before long, McKinney will have African-Americans believing that she’s a candidate for sainthood and that the police officer is just another jack-booted thug helping The Man keep her down. Whatever….

Prepare yourselves for a Level 5 Media Whore assault.
