OK, so I didn’t make the Drudge Report. It’s a parody, but it just another example of the attention TPRS seems to be attracting lately. Hey, it’s nice to see this sort of thing happening. After 4 1/2 of enforced anonymity, TPRS seems to be getting at least a little bit of notice.
To me, it’s all about starting a conversation. If I can start a conversation, if I can set people to thinking about an issue, then I feel as if I’ve accomplished something positive. It would be nice if that was seen and recognized by the multitudes, but I’ll take whatever impact I can make.
One of my goals is to be able to do this for a living. I’m nowhere near that point yet, and I don’t know if it will ever happen. For now, I can use Sean-Paul Kelly as an example to follow. He’s managed to find a way to make a living through blogging, and I figure that if he can do it, perhaps there might be hope for me eventually.
Of course, if I never manage to lose my amateur status, I can still pretend that I’m a writer, and I can still dream the dream and act as if people actually pay attention to what I have to say. All of this may or may not be true, but as long as I’m having fun, I’ll still be here. When that ceases to be the case, I’ll figure something else out. For now, though, I’m still having fun, and I still have a LOT to get off my chest. Thanks for being here to read it.
