Nothing like going down with the ship, eh?

Fox’s Hannity Stays the Course With Bush

“Let me be straight with you - I like George Bush,” Hannity said. “I think he’s a man of principle, a man of faith. I think he’s got a backbone of steel and he’s a real, genuine, big-time leader … He’s a consequential figure for his time. We don’t see it right now.”

Let ME be straight with you - Sean Hannity is a flippin’ idiot. I think he’s a Republican toady, a tool who recognizes who butters his bread and wouldn’t know a principle if it bit him on the @$$. I think he panders to those on the Right who fear everyone and everything that doesn’t fit their “White like me” fear-based, ignorance-fueled mindset. Hannity wouldn’t recognize the truth if it came gift-wrapped with a naked Laker Girl. He knows that his paycheck depends on the ratings provided by those Red Meat Conservatives who are much more comfortable reacting than thinking, and whose answer to any threat is to slap a few more magnetic ribbons on the back of their SUV. He’s a big-time fool and a panderer extraordinaire, a man who makes a living off the fear and ignorance of his audience base and has come to be dependent on that slavering adulation.

No, Sean Hannity is a man of little import and even less consequence - a male version of Ann Coulter, if you will. If Hannity EVER had anything of any value to add to the public dialogue, he has long since forgotten what it was in his all-out effort to pander to the Right’s lowest common denominator. If NASCAR had an official Right-wing pundit, it would be Sean Hannity.

Of course, if you can pull in ratings and sell books like Hannity, who CARES what the truth is? Fair and Balanced? Only if we’re talking about a balance sheet….
