Once a DUMB@$$...

Congresswoman in Capitol Fight Apologizes

mckinney1.jpg

Interesting, isn’t it? Cynthia McKinney spends the better part of the last week demonizing a Capitol police officer, accuses him of everything from racism to pedophelia to executing Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, discovers that no reasonable person is buying her tired racist crap, and then…OOPS!! My bad!! I’m sorry!!

Whatever….

After attempting to spin this incident every which way imaginable, with and without her attorneys, and in front of virtually every camera known to mankind, McKinney seems to have decided that there simply is no way to spin the truth…although this mea culpa smells little better than the rest of her spin-doctoring. You can only cry “Wolf!” so many times before the sound of your voice becomes just so much background noise and people stop taking you seriously. Personally, I don’t know that anyone has taken McKinney seriously in years.

Yes, Cynthia McKinney is a DUMB@$$, far past the point of no return. That she is a Democrat hardly mitigates the depth of her craven political miscalculations and her willingness to drag a hard-working police officer through the mud. Stupid is as stupid does, and there is no longer any doubt that McKinney is a world-class demagogue and a fool of the first order. Given her penchant for playing the race card whenever things get tough, it’s not difficult to understand why she’s managed to transform herself into the Democratic Party’s version of Tom DeLay- dogmatic, inflexible, arrogant, and self-superior. I could keep going, but I think I’ve made my point.

For those of you who may not be terribly familiar with McKinney’s myriad foibles (and you should consider yourself fortunate), here, is a primer on Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA), via Wikipedia, the source of all wisdom and knowledge:

We know there were numerous warnings of the events to come on September 11… Those engaged in unusual stock trades immediately before September 11 knew enough to make millions of dollars from United and American airlines, certain insurance and brokerage firms’ stocks. What did the Administration know, and when did it know it about the events of September 11? Who else knew and why did they not warn the innocent people of New York who were needlessly murdered?

Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA)

As you might imagine, these remarks were not exactly greeted with wide acceptance and acclaim. Indeed, many good and decent folks were understandably and demonstrably upset with Rep. DUMB@$$ McKinney. Fortunately for us, and unfortunately for her, this was hardly the first, nor would it be the last time McKinney would nosh on her Jimmy Choos. I could relay the gory details, but why beat a dead horse?

What I do find fascinating is that McKinney’s latest dust-up is hardly her first rodeo when it comes to negative interactions with police officers. To wit:

After an incident in 1993 when she had an altercation with an United States Capitol Police officer, a picture of her was posted for all officers since she refuses to wear a security pin identifying her as a member of Congress. There have been four more incidents since, including one involving a complaint that White House security officials mistook her 23-year-old white aide for her.

It seems that McKinney refuses to wear the pin that would identify her as a member of Congress. Perhaps the color scheme clashes with her outfits, or perhaps she just doesn’t like being categorized and defined by The Man. Whatever the reason, McKinney could save herself a lot of negative publicity by simply wearing her Congressional ID pin. She certainly could have prevented herself from being stranded on a rhetorical island if she had just done what virtually every other member of Congress and worn her damn pin.

McKinney has garnered little support among fellow Democrats in her feud with the Capitol police. No one in her party chose to join her at a news conference to discuss the situation.

McKinney made a brief statement on her behalf in Howard University on March 31: “Let me be clear, this whole incident was instigated by the inappropriate touching and stopping of me, a female black congresswoman. I deeply regret this incident occurred, and I am certain that after a full review of the facts, I will be exonerated.”

She could have gone on to say that “I almost also confident that, after a full review of the facts, my constituents will come to see that I, a female black Congresswoman, am a racist and a complete DUMB@$$.”

And I couldn’t agree more….

Oh, and wouldn’t a public apology to the policeman she assaulted have been a decent thing to do? Of course, this is Cynthia McKinney we’re talking about here, who wouldn’t know decent if it bit her on the ass. Jesus, what a DUMB@$$….
