A shot in the arm...or too little too late?

Astros seal record deal with Clemens

So the reading of the tea leaves is now officially over, and Roger Clemens will once again be pitching for the Astros. I’m not quite certain what to make of it all, but there is one thing of which I’m certain. It looks as if Clemens’ first game on the mound at Minute Maid Park will be June 22nd against,…wait for it…the Minnesota Twins. And guess who has tickets?? Yep, that would be me. Can you say “full house”?? That game probably sold out once the Astros announced Clemens’ signing.

She Who Endures My Myriad Eccentricities gave me tickets to the June 22nd game as a birthday present. Little did she realize what the significance of that game might be. I’m beyond excited, and it has nothing to do with Roger Clemens. I get to see my Minnesota Twins again…without having to fly to Minneapolis in order to do it. Seeing Roger Clemens pitch will just make the evening that much more enjoyable. Of course, I’ll be rooting for Minnesota that night (and wearing a Twins jersey if I can get my hands on one)…I am, after all, a Twins fans first and then an Astros fan. It should make for an interesing evening.

I really hope that Clemens pitches every bit as well and dominantly as he did last year…just not on June 22nd against my Twins.

Game on, eh??
