Better to be thought a fool than to be Ann Coulter and remove all doubt

Ann Coulter says US soldiers want to assassinate Congressman John Murtha

Ann Coulter: living down to her reputation

RWN’s Ann Coulter Interview #3

John Hawkins: Is there anything else you’d like to say or promote before we finish up?

Ann Coulter: Yes, today I’m plugging integrity, courage, honesty, and patriotism.

Well, damn…for a moment there, I thought you plugging ignorance, reaction, xenophobia, and intolerance. Silly me….

One of the things that truly amazes me about the Right is their willingness to provide a forum for any voice, no matter how reactionary and hateful, if they think it will advance their cause. So what if Ann Coulter is pedding hatred and ignorance as legitimate Conservative tools? So what if she is advocating the ignorance of any facts that don’t fit her preconceived and set in stone notions of how things ought to be? So what if her “research” on Darwinism” comes almost exclusively from interiews with proponents of Intelligent Design? So what if in her world insults and character assassination passes for legitimate, honest debate?

What is it about Conservative, Red Meat Republicans that seems to devalue civility and simple human decency and courtesy? Of course, it IS a whole lot easier when you’ve long since made up your mind and can simply attack those who think differently as evil, clueless, unpatriotic, and anti-American? It sure beats the Hell out of thinking, eh?

It’s not for nothing that Coulter and her ilk are referred to as the American Taliban. While her intolerant, kill-‘em-all-let-God-sort-‘em-out wing of the Republican Party may see themselves as the true representatives of all that is Right and Holy, in reality their philosophy is simplistic, their methods crude, and their self-righteousness laughable. Better to be thought a fool…oh, wait, I’ve already been down that road, haven’t I?

Amazing how ignorance, hatred, and poor, incomplete and completely biased research sells in this country, isn’t it?

VOTE REPUBLICAN! IT’S EASIER THAN THINKING!!
