"Nothing of importance happened today"

A special day

The Fourth of July means many things to many people, and perhaps that’s the beauty of the holiday. In a nation as diverse as our, we all have some unique and different to celebrate. Given that we’re not a nation of history majors, though, it’s easy to lose sight of where and how this all began. Nathan Nance has written an excellent piece with some historical perspective on July 4th, which, unless you’re American, is just another Tuesday. It might also be good to be reminded of why we owe France such a tremendous debt of gratitude.

Have a safe and happy Fourth, y’all!!
