Peace prize winner ‘could kill’ Bush
NOBEL peace laureate Betty Williams displayed a flash of her feisty Irish spirit yesterday, lashing out at US President George W.Bush during a speech to hundreds of schoolchildren…. “Right now, I would love to kill George Bush.” Her young audience at the Brisbane City Hall clapped and cheered.
I know…you’re thinking I’m upset because I didn’t think of it first. Uh…not really, ‘cuz I don’t want the Secret Service knocking down my door because someone is thinking that I’m advocating assassinating the President. Then again, I’m not about to stop someone else from thinking about it…because this is, after all, still (nominally, at least) a free country. Oh, wait…this is Australia we’re talking about, isn’t it??
OK, let’s get one thing straight. I am NOT advocating violence against Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader. Even so, you have to admire someone who’s willing to express herself in such uncertain terms. Don’t you?? And then to announce her desire to kill Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader before a group of children…well, it just doesn’t get any better…does it?
All right, I’ll admit it. This whole thing is really rather childish and immature in the extreme. I detest Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader as much (and perhaps more) than just about anyone out there, but not even I will talk about assassinating the man- even jokingly. Let’s face it; we’ re stuck with the @$$#&!% until 1.20.09, and about the best we can hope for is that the Democrats will take back control of Congress in November.
Hey, now; I just had a real brainstorm…or in my case, a heavy drizzle: if the Democrats take back Congress, they could impeach Our Glorious and Benevolent. Hmm…I wonder if they could ever must the cojones to impeach the tyrant??
Ooooh, life suddenly looks SO much better, doesn’t it??
