Oregon Newspaper Editorialists Tongue-Tied About Hezbollah War On Israel - Hypocrisy On Display (via Martini Republic)
Back home in Oregon, it’s obvious to me that there is a complete absence of editorial condemnation of Hezbollah by major Oregon newspaper editorialists. None of their normally expected blathering commentary about purported disproportionality of Israel’s military retribution… None of their conciliatory appeasement pleadings ala Neville Chamberlin… Nothing… These totally foundation-less, normally loud-mouthed, prose writers don’t seem to have a clue. And, they don’t seem to have balls enough to throw their editorial commentary into the fray on Israel’s side.
There are few things I detest more than ignorant, hate-filled trolls with a forum and a green light to blithely toss about any flavor of inflammatory rhetoric that happens to pop into their pointy little heads. So it is with Dennis Becklin, who, and I suppose we should be grateful for this, is limited to an exceedingly small media empire in Oregon’s Rogue Valley. Nonetheless, for those of you who have always thought of the Pacific Northwest as the native environment of woolly-headed, marijuana-smoking, granola-eating Libruls, well, you may want to recalibrate your preconceived notions. Man, this is some high-powered, hate-filled rhetoric, ain’t it? I can think of a few old Nazi propagandists who wouldn’t have been able to hold a candle to Becklin.
I will say this for Becklin, though: he’s got the Conservative method down pat. First, begin by painting your ideological adversares in the most negative light possible. Question their manhood, the patriotism, even their sexuality if you have to. Do whatever it takes to portray Liberal Democrats as a collection of spineless, America-hating weenies who will fall for anything because they stand for nothing.
Second, toss around a few highly inflammatory, impossible to verify accusations about your political adversaries. Remember, it’s tough to hit a moving target, and there’s is nothing that Liberals hate more than being tarred with vague, indefensible, and yet highly offensive generalites. Even if they finally figure out a way to defend themselves, by the time they do, you’ll have already long since moved on. In this way, you’ll always keeps Liberals guessing.
Finally, be outrageous. Don’t worry about silliness like being able to back up your arguments with actual evidence. What people will remember will be the outrage with which you make your pronouncements. Remember Goebbel’s “Big Lie” theory: repeat something often enough and with suffiecient conviction and it eventually becomes the truth. Ultimately, the American sheeple will neither care nor longer remember whether or not your charges and accusations have any validity. All they will remember will be the conviction you bring to your invective: You, know, if he feels THAT strongly, what he’s saying MUST be true….
What does it take Oregon editors? Are you going to wait until Islamic fascists, who have been engaged in the World War III killing of Americans, Jews and other “infidels”, attack your cute little suburban Oregon communities? Wasn’t NYC and the 9-11 World Trade Center attack close enough to your homes or your families or your nice little lives to leave a lasting conviction that these terrorist monsters must be eliminated?
That’s right; shouldn’t we just kill then all and let God sort ‘em out? After all, we’re Americans, damnit…and since God votes Republican, he should have no problems with our government engaging in pre-emptive killing.
As their WWIII progresses in a quest to encompass the earth’s entire land mass, are you going to wait until sites in Oregon will be needed for the beheading executions of the defeated enemies of these radicals?
With its recently expanded seating capacity of 54,000, Autzen Stadium on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon, could be an ideal venue for the beheadings of thousands of North American infidels. With the addition of holding cells for more condemned prisoners, this stadium would be able to process thousands of infidels each day.
Hey, I’ve been to Autzen Stadium. While it’s a great place to watch a football game, I can’t vouch for whether it’s adequately equipped as a killing ground. Given that the University of Oregon is a state-funded institution, my guess is that it’s probably rather lacking in that department. Not that it couldn’t be adequately adapted with some Homeland Security money, though.
It’s probably just as well that Dennis Becklin is marooned in the media wasteland that is the Rogue Valley. He can scream his hate-filled invective to the four winds if he chooses to do so. Thankfully, only about four people will every regularly read his columns. That’s about four more readers than he deserves, but this is still a free country, and even fools get to say their piece.
