Fraudulent Words and Images: The Accountability Double Standard

Headline News Anchor: ‘Might Some Argue That Lamont…Is The al Qaeda Candidate?’

DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener #420: Chuck Roberts

[O]n CNN Headline News, anchor Chuck Roberts discussed the impact of the foiled British terror plot with Hotline senior editor John Mercurio. Roberts asked Mercurio, “How does this factor into the Lieberman/Lamont contest? And might some argue, as some have, that Lamont is the al Qaeda candidate?”

CNN Headline News anchor Chuck Roberts could never be fairly describe as the sharpest tool in the shed, which probably explains why he’s still a Headline News anchor. After all, how challenging can it be to read the same news copy repeatedly over the course of a work day? Nonetheless, it’s difficult to imagine that Roberts could have stooped as low as he did when he, with a straight face, asked an interviewee if Ned Lamont was “the al-Qaeda candidate”. So much for journalistic objectivity, eh? (OK…explain to me again why the Mainstream Media is such a den of Liberal ideology??)

So, what’s next? And might some argue, as some have, that Sen. Hillary Clinton is the living, breathing reincarnation of Satan?

And might some argue, as some have, that Rep. Nancy Pelosi is an evil, castrating bitch?

And might some argue, as some have, that Howard Dean keeps a stable of pre-pubescent boys chained to radiators in his Georgetown loft and uses them for his own sexual gratification after plying them with alcohol?

The saddest thing is that Robert’s egregrious violation of anything resembling journalistic decency and objectivity created nary a ripple among politicians and the media. You can bet that, if Roberts had asked his guest if Rush Limbaugh was a drug addict, the hue and cry, the weeping and gnashing of teeth, and the sheer agony of righteous indignation would be heard from Washington to East Bumfuck, ID. Never mind the fact that Roberts would be out on his ass and unemployed faster than he could say “Manifest Destiny”.

WHAT Liberal Media???
