Another DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener

Kristol: Cheney’s Claim That Lamont Win Helps ‘Al-Qaeda Types’ Is Indisputably Correct’

DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener #419: Bill Kristol

Last week, Vice President Dick Cheney called Ned Lamont’s win in the Connecticut primary “disturbing” because “the al Qaeda types, they clearly are betting on the proposition that ultimately they can break the will of the American people in terms of our ability to stay in the fight and complete the task.” Today on Fox News Sunday, Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol called Cheney’s remarks “indisputably correct.” Kristol said that anyone who advocates redeployment of U.S. troops from Iraq is helping al-Qaeda.

Man, you spend your life positioning yourself as a reasonable, principled, and intellectual Conservative thinker. Then, in one unguarded moment, that carefully constructed image is blown out of the water, and your true ignorant, knuckle-dragging self is revealed in all it’s redolent glory. Of course, when you think that you’re a much more highly developed and worthy human being that the rest of the ignorant unwashed masses, you probably care little for what the hoi-polloi think of you. Man, this is a DUMB@$$ if ever there was one…

It must be nice to be Bill Kristol, who, by declaring somthing a “fact”, makes it so. A simple pronouncement emanating from his superior intellect, and everything that the rest of us drooling cretins have held to be true simply crumbles in the face of Kristol’s undeniable moral and intellectual superiority.

This is the great thing about being a Conservative. You can pronounce something a fact, produce no evidence to support your assertion, and yet before you know it, you have a newly minted fact. How DOES Kristol do it??

WALLACE: Bill, after the events of this week — and I know you’re not going to like this question — but can you argue that the working class neighborhoods in Britain are a bigger threat to the United States than what happens in Baghdad?

KRISTOL: No. Look, there are lots of threats. It is a global war. The Bush administration, I think, is deeply correct about this. And what you do on one front affects what happens on the other front. Cheney’s statement is indisputably correct. It doesn’t mean that Ned Lamont likes al Qaeda or wants al Qaeda to win. But the notion that a retreat in Iraq would not embolden terrorists elsewhere in the Middle East, and terror recruiters in the suburbs of London, is ludicrous. Of course it would. Now, if you want to say we should get out of Iraq anyway because we can’t win and this is the price we have to pay, fine. But it’s just factually true that our pulling out of Iraq will be bad for us in the global war on terror.

Notice that nowhere does Kristol produce anything resembling a shred of evidence to back his specious assertion. In Conservative circles, of course, abject certainty is all that’s required to firmly establish something as “fact”. So when he says, “it’s just factually true that our pulling out of Iraq will be bad for us in the global war on terror”, the mere stating of his point with undeniably force and conviction RENDERS IT A IRON-CLAD FACT. Brilliant, no? It’s a skill that Liberals sadly seem not to possess. We like evidence, while Conservatives believe conviction and certitude will suffice.

Jeebus, no wonder we’re always playing catch-up, eh? While we’re busily trying to get our rhetorical ducks in a row, Conservatives have not only skipped that part, they’re already heavily involved in using their conviction and forceful brilliance to convert the masses of the American sheeple to their way of thinking

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA….
