Jeez...I wonder what they'd do for Kim Jong-il

Iran awarded Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez its highest state medal on Sunday for supporting Tehran in its nuclear standoff with the international community, while Chavez urged the world to rise up and defeat the U.S., state-run media in both countries reported. The leftist Venezuelan leader also condemned Israel for what he called the “terrorism” and “madness” of its attacks in Lebanon, Venezuelan state television reported.

teamwork.gifThe’re like two peas in a pod (and two former DUMB@$$ AWARD wieners)- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Between them they possess the intellectual candlepower of a pen light, but they sure can sling that anti-American rhetoric, can’t they?

As if to cement their international socialist love affair, Iran is presenting Chaveze with it’s highest honor: they’ll hang six men publicly in his honor. Hmm…kinda makes you wonder what they’d do for a truly skilled despot, doesn’t it?? Then again, neither of these maroons can stomach Our Glorious and Benevlent Leader, who is to despots what Mary Kay LeTourneau was to teachers.

Somehow I think Ahmadinejad and Chavez deserve each other. They’re both blowhards who think that their countries are more powerful and influential than they actually are. They’re both in love with the sounds of their own voice. And neither seem to care that they’ve become international pariahs. Of course, both Iran and Venezuela are sitting atop boatloads of oil, so the rest of the civilized world is pretty much forced to take them seriously, even if their Presidents are little more than cartoon characters.

Perhaps next time Ahmadinejad can round up a few mullahs to stone some adultresses in Chavez’ honor….
