Another trip to Bullies 'R' Us

After watching Fox News Channel’s Chris Wallace get smacked down big time by former President Bill Clinton on Sunday evening, I knew that Conservatives weren’t about to take it lying down. Just as predictably, it was Matt Drudge who stepped up to represent, albeit very poorly and transparently.

“Purple-faced rage?” Uh, I don’t know what interview Matt Drudge was watching, but Bill Clinton was remarkably composed- much moreso than I likely would have been under the same circumstances. There was no “rage”, nor was Clinton “purple-faced”. Yes, he was angry, and he was forceful in defending himself…and what’s wrong with that? I suppose Republicans are so used to Democrats not having the balls to call bullshit when confronted with it that they just can’t deal with an agressive, intelligent defense.

And speaking of spineless weenies, Wallace looked as if he was about to piss on himself out of sheer, abject fear. His “I felt as if a mountain was coming down in front of me” whine only serves to point up how bullies rarely are able to cope with it when their intended victim stands up for themselves and fight back. It’s just too damn bad that so few Democrats have cojones a la Clinton.

Watching Bill Clinton embarrass Chris Wallace and expose him for the spineless partisan hack he is, I was PROUD to be a Democrat. I was PROUD of the best President of my generation. And I was PROUD to be an American and live in a country where a leader and a statesman can call bullshit on an openly partisan and dishonest “journalist” doing his damnedest to discredit a former President who deserved better. More than anything, I was proud that Bill Clinton accepted the challenge of appearing on Fox News Channel. Even though he got ambushed, Clinton demonstrated himself to be everything Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader isn’t- thoughtful, intelligent, erudite, articulate, and most of all, a leader.

STILL GLAD YOU VOTED REPUBLICAN? You should be embarrassed…because if you take an honest look around, you’ll recognize the thugs and bullies you’ve enabled. No, Bill Clinton was hardly a perfect President, but here’s one thing you can’t dispute: NO ONE DIED WHEN CLINTON LIED.

Of course, reflexively voting Republican IS easier than thinking, no?
