At U.N., Chavez Calls Bush ‘The Devil’

Chavez Calls Bush ‘Devil,’ Assails U.S. Policies

MY NEW HERO #48: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez today called President Bush “the devil” and the “world dictator” on the floor of the U.N. General Assembly, then asserted that the United Nations suffers from a “mortal disease” because it is dominated by the “North American empire.”….Speaking from the podium where Bush spoke a day earlier, Chavez said he can still smell the “sulfur” — a reference to the scent of Satan.

Wow…I’ve often wondered if one could be a DUMB@$$ and MY NEW HERO at the same time. As it turns out, it’s indeed possible, though it really takes someone larger than life, someone selfless and shameless…and someone who’s as dumb as a f——-g fence post. Yes, without a doubt that special someone is former DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener Hugo Chavez, a true Renaissance man for the 21st century, a man’s man who isn’t hung up on diplomatic niceties and diplo-speak. No, Chavez will tell you what’s on his mind, even if he doesn’t often seem to know what’s going to come out of his mouth until he opens it.

Chavez’ speech to the UN General Assembly was one for the ages, a tour de force of ad hominem attacks that had diplomats present uttering the diplomatic equivalent of “What the f—k??” Yes, some of may honestly THINK that Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader is the Devil. Hugo Chavez actually put it out their into the void. AND he managed to bring Noam Chomsky into the fray as well.

SCORE!!!

Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez took the podium at the United Nations, where he launched his latest verbal salvo against President Bush and U.S. world influence. Making the sign of the cross, Chavez described Bush as “the devil” and decried Washington’s misuse of its far-reaching power….

Addressing the U.N. body Tuesday, President Bush spoke of promoting democracy in the Middle East. But other world leaders, like Chavez and Iran’s President President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, used the U.N. podium to challenge America’s influence in the world.

Speaking through an interpreter, Chavez called on nations to rise up against what he called America’s hegemony. He even had some recommended reading for his colleagues: Noam Chomsky’s Hegemony or Survival: America’s Quest for Global Dominance.

Hey, the man might be a DUMB@$$, but he does score points with me for turning what would normally just so much diplomatic verbal masturbation into something highly entertaining and unpredictable. Anyone who can fold Noam Chomsky and Satan into a condemnation of Our Glorious and Benevolet Leader deserves to be recognized for being the creative, uninhibited, and heroic despot he is.
