A MICHIGAN CENSUS SNAPSHOT: More feel pain of tight economy
UNINSURED IN MICHIGAN: 11% lack health care coverage in 2005
Courtesy of the Detroit Free Press, here’s a handy map showing how far median incomes have dropped over the past six years. And it’s good news for most of you: Compared to Michigan and North Carolina you’re not doing so badly after all. So stop your sniveling.
Looking at this map, I couldn’t help but thinking of Ronald Reagan’s oft-used campaign question: “Are you better off now than you were four years ago?” Without a doubt, the answer here is a resounding “NO!!” Of course, one map doesn’t fully address the sucky state of the economy, and lies, damn lies, and statistics can be made to dance to just about any tune, but one thing seems apparent- and that would be that we’re heading in the wrong direction. EVERY state, save for Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, Rhode Island, and the District of Columbia shows a drop in median income over the past six years. Doesn’t that speak to the ineptitude and lack of commitment to domestic issues on the part of Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader?
STILL GLAD YOU VOTED REPUBLICAN??
