Yes, some things really ARE self-evident

“Rick Santorum is an idiot”

One day, while adamantly tallying the number of Casey and Santorum roadside signs, I figured out a solution to my problem: actually researching the candidates. The results of my investigation are conclusive; Rick Santorum is an idiot.

I’ve known for a long time now that Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) is a complete idiot. This has hardly been a state secret, but it’s refreshing to discover that others are drawing their own conclusions and discovering for themselves that yes, Santorum has the intellectual agility and common sense of a bagel.

What’s truly amazing about Santorum’s intellectual ineptitude is that his race with Bob Casey is as close as it is. Apparently, there are a significant number of Pennsylvania voters who have no real problem with a clueless hyper-religious nutjob representing Pennsylvania in the Senate. Man…aim high, people….

Ignorant, clueless, out of touch, self-righteous, and built to stay that way. How in the world did this maroon get elected in the first place??

How did this shithead get elected? In 1994--the year of the enraged white-male Republican sweep in the Congressional elections. Helped by an ineffective campaign by the incumbent Democratic Senator, Harris Wofford -- and helped also by the father of Santorum's present opponent, Gov. Robert Casey, whose only real interest in politics was abolishing abortion. Casey "did not support me" in the 1994 elction, Wofford admits -- but denies that Casey in fact voted for Santorum (as I believe he did). I suppose I shall have to vote for Casey Jr. in November, but I'm still not certain that I can get myself to do it...

Santorum's poll numbers just reflect the Republican base, who vote as they are told. Critical thinking, questioning, rationality - those are all foreign concepts, which is why Kay Bailey's numbers continue to be so high when she has such a lackluster record during her years in the Senate.

Dude,

I can't take it anymore. Maroon is the color of the A&M farmers in College Station. Santorum is a MORON, not a color.

Bob Casey is not really a good candidate or a good Democrat - but he is more than 600 years ahead of Santorumís intellectual development.
