Bush Goes On Offensive Against ‘Cut and Run’ Democrats
WASHINGTON — President Bush fired a shot across the bow of the Democratic Party Thursday, saying “the party of FDR… has become the party of cut and run.”….In his most direct attack this election season, Bush flatly charged that Democrats are incapable of effectively fighting the War on Terror.
Man, it must be nice to be so thoroughly self-superior, to know beyond the shadow of a doubt that, as the Leader of the Free World, you are and should be viewed as He Who Should Be Obeyed. No mere mortal has the right to doubt your superiority…and those who dare question you can and should be marginalized and demonized as America-haters and enemies of liberty.
Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader’s trip off the reservation is perhaps the most egregrious, offensive, and insulting trip down the negative campaign trail yet. I suppose when you can’t compete on the merits of your policy, the only recourse left to you is to traffic in gratuitous, meaningless insults. Nice, eh?
“The stakes in this war are high and so are the stakes this November. Americans face a choice between two parties with different attitudes on this War on Terror,” he told an audience in Birmingham at a Republican fundraiser for Alabama Gov. Bob Riley.
“Five years after 9/11, the worst attack on the American homeland in history, the Democrats offer nothing but criticism and obstruction and endless second-guessing. The party of FDR, the party of Harry Truman has become the party of cut and run,” Bush said.
With less than six weeks to go until a November election that polls suggest could result in lost seats for Republicans in both the U.S. House and Senate, Bush chided Democrats, saying they don’t understand the enemy nor do they grasp that succeeding in the War on Terror means not retreating from Iraq.
Right; we Democrats are just a buncha ignorant, self-absorbed panty waists without the cojones it takes to fight terrorism where it lives. To say that I’m offended by the stunning arrogance and the “we’re safer when y’all obey” attitude displayed by Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader wouldn’t begin to do justice to my anger. This is a man who rode into office pledging to be a uniter , not a divider…and yet he has done nothing if not work to marginalize and demonize those who do not share his Apocalyptic world-view and his faith in muscular Christianity.
Dissent does NOT equal terrorism or hatred of America. Demanding the truth is NOT anti-American. Demanding an end to the senseless waste of American lives in this generation’s Vietnam is not proof of our lack of patritotic fervor. How long must we allow this sorry excuse for a President to send our sons and daughters to their pointless and senseless deaths? How long must we listen to him portray these deaths as the price of American freedom?
NOW CAN WE IMPEACH THE LYING, MURDERING BASTARD??
