46 Iraq Sunnis Killed in Revenge Rampage
Suspected Shiite militiamen killed at least 46 Sunni Arabs in a weekend rampage of revenge killing in a city north of Baghdad, an Interior Ministry official said Sunday, raising the toll in the latest sectarian bloodletting there to 63. A string of bombings in the northern city of Kirkuk killed 10 people, including two girls who died when a man detonated explosives strapped to his body in front of the al-Mallimin girls high school in downtown Kirkuk, police officials said. The U.S. military reported the deaths of a Marine and four soldiers. The Marine was killed in combat in Anbar province, the Sunni heartland west of Baghdad on Saturday.
How sad is it that this wholesale loss of life is just (yawn) another bit of agate type on just another rainy Monday morning? That the continuing carnage in Iraq is barely even seen as newsworthy anymore is, and should viewed as, an indictment of Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader’s ineffectual and murderous excuse for an Iraq policy. This is, I suppose, what can (and should) be expected when you invade a country with no plan of execution or exit.
That we have become so inured to and tolerant of the continuing senseless carnage in Iraq is nothing if not an indictment of Americans and our willingness to ignore the pain and suffering caused overseas by the incompetence and venality of our leaders. Hey, it’s better to be fighting them in the streets of Baghdad than the…oh, fuhgeddoaboudit….
How many more innocent Iraqis will have to die senseless, horrible deaths to satisfy the endless bloodlust that seems to be the only unifying ideology in Iraq these days? How many more Americans will be separated from their mortal coil by IEDs, car bombs, or other hallmarks of unconventional warfare that they can neither anticipate, see, or fight back against? How long before the American sheeple wake up and realize what is being done in their name?
And how long before we can impeach the lying bastard in the White House responsible for all of the blood and tears? How much blood must a mediocrity of a President have on his hands before we finally wake up and realize what we’ve allowed him to do in our name?
HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH??
