Of course, Republicans would NEVER stoop to such depths....

To understand just how desperate Republicans are and just how fearful they are of losing control of Congress, all you have to do is to listen to them. Listen to Dennis Hastert, who on one day claimed ignorance of Mark Foley’s in appropriate online behavior, and the next proclaimed to Rush Limbaugh (without a trace of irony) that the Republican leadership had counselled Foley and told him to knock it off.

Listen to Tony Snow, whose reaction to the scandal was to pass it off as nothing more than so many “naughty emails.”

Listen to John Boehner and Roy Blunt, who are all too ready to throw Dennis Hastert to the sharks. Of course, the fact that their careers would benefit from Hastert’s demise has NOTHING to do with this. No, it’s all about protecting the children…and Republican electoral prospects.

Listen to Rush Limbaugh, who…oh, Hell…why would you want to listen to that ignorant blowhard drug addict, anyway?

Republicans- the smart ones, at least- know exactly how dire their prospects currently are. Here we are, inside of five weeks from Election Day, and the American sheeple are awakening to the reality that Republicans knew a FULL YEAR AGO that Mark Foley was having inappropriate communications with an underage male page- AND THEY COVERED IT UP, no doubt hoping that they could delay the inevitable explosion until after the midterm election.

Now they’re attempting to blame Democrats for timing this scandal for maximum political benefit? These fools really DON’T have any shame, do they?

Oh, and as far as the “various obscure blogs” thing goes…that’s a tag I’ll wear with pride, thank you very much, because if there’s one thing I know, it’s that democracy still runs on dissent and free speech. Obscurity be damned….

STILL GLAD YOU VOTED REPUBLICAN??
