Today's "Vote Your Values" value: rank hypocrisy

GOP porn scandal widens: In addition to accepting donations from gay “porn king,” GOP also took money from “porn queen” Mary Carey

GOP invited known porn star to dinner with Bush, lunch with Rove, AGAIN in 2006

RNC Chief Ken Mehlman accepted political contributions from gay porn king?

Republican National Committee regularly takes contributions from gay porn “king”

Why is this relevant? Because the RNC went after Tennessee Democrat Harold Ford last week claiming he took money from Hollywood porn movie producers. Leave it to the Republicans to one up the Democrats and not just take porn money, but take GAY PORN money :-) I love Republicans. They make me smile.

Don’t you just LOVE it when the “family values” crowd get caught with their metaphorical pants down?? The party of morality and decency, exposed as just another collection of shameless hypocrites. What a shock, eh?

I frankly don’t much care if a politician or a party accepts money from people in the porn industry. Regardless of your views on the subject of pornography, it’s a growing industry with concerns regarding legislation just like any other industry. If the oil and gas industry is allowed to give money to politicians and political parties, why not the porn industry?

What does flip my switch is when those who go to great lengths to portray themselves as morally upright and holier-than-thou turn out to be no better than those (Liberals, Democrats, and other Philistines) they delight in reviling. IF you’re going to be the party of “family values” and upright moralism, then what in the Hell are you doing accepting money from pornographers? And GAY pornographers at that? Man, this is some twisted $#!%, isn’t it? Do these fools not understand the meaning of “hypocrisy”?

Apparently not….

You do have to admit, though, that this does make for some high-grade political theater. Hypocrite, first cover thy own ass….

Last week, you’ll remember, the RNC, headed by Ken Mehlman, was running that race-baiting ‘bimbo’ ad against Rep. Harold Ford (D) down in Tennessee. One of the barbs in that ad was the claim that Ford had taken political contributions from “porn movie producers.”

But it seems there is plenty of porn movie producer money to go around.

It turns out that the Republican National Committee is a regular recipient of political contributions from Nicholas T. Boyias, the owner and CEO of Marina Pacific Distributors, one of the largest producers and distributors of gay porn in the United States. This recent article on Marina Pacific’s new marketing campaign form XBiz, a porn industry trade sheet, notes that, in addition to producing its own material, the “company acts as a distribution house to hundreds of lines, mostly gay, 40 of which can be purchased only through MPD.”

Just as it’s emerging that a number of Republican Congressmen are being exposed as having…um, shall we say “unusual” sexual drives and urges (we like ‘em young and supple), it should come as no surprise that the GOP is accepting money from the producers of gay porn. Given that closeted homosexuality seems to be a recurring theme among Congressional Republicans these days, why not take money from those who help feed those urges? If you’re going to do that, however, you need to stop presenting yourself as holier-than-thou.

Is it any wonder that Republicans can see their majoirty slipping away from them? For 12 years, they’ve ruled Congress as if it was their own private playground. They’ve milked the system for whatever they could get out of it, and when the rules no longer served their purpose, they changed the rules to better suit their best interests. Did they really think that they would be able to conduct business this way indefinitely? Did they really think treating Congress as their personal playpen was something that they would never be held accountable for?

For too long now, Republicans have been behaving as if they were to the manor born, and that Congress was their own private, permanent fiefdom. Clearly, these fools have lost sight of the lofty goals and heady rhetoric that they rode into power in 1994 on. It’s about damn time that they be reduced to wandering in the wilderness as the minority party.

STILL GLAD YOU VOTED REPUBLICAN??
