Another dispatch from our terrified Republic

Muslim scholar calls for airline boycott

Group wants removal of Muslims from flight probed

MINNEAPOLIS — The Council on American-Islamic Relations called today for an investigation into the behavior of airline staff and airport security in the removal of six Muslim scholars from a US Airways flight a day earlier. A passenger raised concerns about the imams ‚Äö√Ñ√Æ three of whom said their normal evening prayers in the airport terminal before boarding the Phoenix-bound plane, according to one — through a note passed to a flight attendant, according to Andrea Rader, a spokeswoman for US Airways….”We are concerned that crew members, passengers and security personnel may have succumbed to fear and prejudice based on stereotyping of Muslims and Islam,” Nihad Awad, the council’s executive director, said in a news release.

OK, everyone…if I could have your attention for just a moment, I need y’all to stand up. Now repeat after me:

THE TERRORISTS HAVE WON!!!

Yes, it’s true…despite the best efforts of Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader and the Mainstream Media, we as a people are now so thoroughly scared s—tless that the very sight of…

…wait for it…

MUSLIMS PRAYING IN PUBLIC (oh, the humanity)…

…is enough to send normally reasonable, rational, albeit distubingly sheep-like Americans into paroxysms of abject, bowel-evacuating terror.

How else do could you possibly explain six, law-abiding Muslims- who, by the way, just happen to also be American citizens- being put off a US Airways flight for the high crime and misdemeanor of- you guessed- praying in public while Muslim? The only honest and reasonable answer is that there IS no explanation for this travesty. We have officially become the Republic of Fear, a place where the mere fact of looking and acting Muslim is enough to terrorize the poor, cowering sheeple. The mere sight of a devout Muslim is enough to cause Americans to lose control of their bowels and soil themselves in abject terror.

Get a grip, willya??

We should all be ashamed. Not only do WE DESERVE BETTER, the six imams who were inconvenienced and humiliated by those acting on the fear, ignorance, and prejudice of others certainly deserved better. This is not the country I grew up in. I no longer recognize this fear- and ignorance-based republic as anything that even vaguely resembles the one I learned about as a schoolboy.

America has become a nation of ignorant sheep willing to oppress and marginalize those who look, believe, and act differently if it makes us feel safer and more secure. Hey, if the imams were REAL Americans, they’d be Christians, wouldn’t they?

And you wonder why so many Muslims hate us for our aggressive, willful ignorance and prejudice?

The six were returning from a conference in Minneapolis of the North American Imams Federation, said Omar Shahin of Phoenix, president of the group.

“They took us off the plane, humiliated us in a very disrespectful way,” Shahin said after the incident.

Shahin said today that three members of the group prayed in the terminal before the six boarded the plane. They entered individually, except for one member who is blind and needed to be guided, Shahin said. Once on the plane, the six did not sit together, he said.

“We did nothing” on the plane, Shahin said.

The six were among passengers who boarded Flight 300, bound for Phoenix, around 6:30 p.m. Monday, airport spokesman Pat Hogan said.

Police were called after the captain and airport security workers asked the men to leave the plane and the men refused, Rader said.

I can understand that Americans are rather on edge since 9.11. That will happen when terrorists fly 3 airliners into office buildings. Nonetheless, ISLAM IS NOT THE PROBLEM. By all indications, the six imams were simply exercisingly their CONSTITUTIONALLY-GUARANTEED freedom of religion rights prior to boarding an airplane- peacefully and quietly. This in no way makes them a threat to good, Christian Americans…though many sheeple would dispute that.

Too many Americans have become prisoners of their own willful fear and aggressive, hate-fueled ignorance. Rather than bother to learn anything at all about Islam, most Americans would rather fear Islam and consider all Muslims to be terrorists looking for a place to happen. Sadly, sentiments like these are all too common:

What’s truly sad is that US Airways not only put the six imams off the flight, they then refused to rebook them on another flight. Apparently, their policy is to rebook customers on other airlines when they’ve been involved in a “security incident”. Right; rather than admit that their employees overreacted in pandering to the fears and prejudices of some of their passengers, they shufle their screw-up onto another airline. So much for taking responsibility and making things right.

Yes, the terrorists have won. Of that there should be absolutely no doubt. And we are all poorer for it.
