Today's sign that the Apocalypse is upon us

Small gov’t meets small bones

We recently received our copy of the 2007 Clare Booth Luce Policy Institute pinup calendar of “Great American Conservative Women.”….”I hope you enjoy this unique calendar and celebrate with us these wonderful leaders in the conservative movement,” writes Michelle Easton, president of the “pro-America, pro-free enterprise, pro-religion and pro-family” organization, in her introduction. This third annual edition of the calendar sports seven new faces, each with a bio and a pithy quote. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., (March) was named the “hottest woman” in U.S. politics by readers of Politics1.com earlier this year. Sandy Forman (April) is president of the National Rifle Association. She’s fittingly photographed holding a peacemaking pistol.

The steady parade of people coming to TPRS for naked pictures of Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin has continued unabated over the years, but the thought of this calendar almost makes me ill. No, no one is naked (thankfully), but can there be anything that more graphically indicates that Republican women are OK with being objectified? And satirized?

Actually, I don’t know if this calendar would qualify as objectification as much as a form of self-gratification and ego massage for the 12 women involved in the calendar. The Princess of Darkness Her Own Self, Ann Coulter, is Miss December. Kinda makes you want to swear off Christmas altogether, doesn’t it? Yikes….

‘Course, if you’re looking for something to line your cat’s litter box or cover that unsightly hole in the wall of your recreation room (the calendar can also be used as a dartboard), or if you’re just looking for a stocking stuffer for that horny Conservative Republican in your life…well, this might just fill the bill.

Ewwwww….
