On Thursday, ThinkProgress noted that Bill O’Reilly — trying to distance himself from Fox’s upcoming interview with O.J. Simpson — falsely claimed “Fox Broadcasting has nothing to do with the Fox News Channel.” In fact, the two entites have the same chairman (Roger Ailes), the same owner (Rupert Murdoch) and Fox Broadcasting regularly airs Fox News content. [Friday] night, Bill O’Reilly attacked the “far left loons” who are linking Fox News with the O.J. Simpson interview. According to O’Reilly, these people are “kool-aid zombies” who are “doing the bidding of far left fanatics who will do anything to disparage me and FNC.”
Yawn…I’ve grown tired of the sad, sorry rants of former (and reigning champion) DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener Bill O’Reilly, whose always-tenuous relationship with the truth seems to have suffered a fatal blow. Good Lord, the man’s become completely unhinged, completely unable to separate truth from fiction, and completely unwilling to reign in his monstrous ego.
It’s difficult to say why O’Reilly has so completely lost touch with reality and truth, but it appears that he’s taken umbrage with people linking Fox News Channel to Fox Broacasting because of O.J. Simpson’s latest book. O’Reilly is INCENSED that people think that Fox News Channel has ANYTHING to do with Fox Broadcasting. The fact that both entities have the same owner, the same chairman, and Fox Broadcasting regularly broadcasts Fox News Channel content is indicative of NOTHING.
PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN!!!
Amazing, isn’t it? Where else but America can you make upwards of $10 million a year for twisting the truth into something so thoroughly unrecognizable. Bill O’Reilly loves to champion himself as the defender of the little guy, as someone who can relate to Joe Sixpack and the issues that “ordinary Americans” care about. Even David Letterman is sick of O’Reilly’s bullshit. One of the last times O’Reilly was on The Late Show, Letterman told him that he got the impression that not even HE believed the bullshit he peddles to his audience.
Sadly, I truly believe that O’Reilly has swallowed so much of his own KoolAid that he can no longer discern truth from his own fevered, hate- and ignorance-fueled rants. The truth, such as it is, is relative and fungible. It’s really about ratings and massaging his massive, insatiable ego.

The so-called elite media is tiptoeing around the fact that Simpson’s being paid millions to exploit the murders of his ex-wife and Ronald Goldman, murders he probably committed.
“So-called elite media”? Just what the Hell that bogeyman is, no one, and certainly not O’Reilly, is willing to say. O’Reilly says it with such gravitas, however, that no one could POSSIBLY question his veracity. Whatever the “so-called elite media” is, it certainly sounds evil, doesn’t it?
The New York Times covered the story in its business section. “CBS Evening News” didn’t even mention it for the first two days. But the tabloid press and cable news are fully engaged.
The far left loons are also out in force as their Internet masters urge them to tie the FOX News channel in with the Simpson situation. I’ve received scores of letters like this one from Fred in Indianapolis.
Uh…actually, Bill, the Simpson interview is being aired by a Fox entity, and, as with all Fox entities, it’s owned and controlled by Rupert Murdoch. So, yes, Fox News Channels is part and parcel of this problem, your loud and vociferous protestations notwithstanding.
And as for the “far left loons”…well, no one does “loon” better than Bill O’Reilly.
“Mr. O’Reilly, you are a man of principle. Since Fox News is sponsoring the Simpson program, will you sever your ties with Fox News?”
Obviously Fred is a bit slow. FOX News has nothing to do with the Simpson situation. And Fred doesn’t believe I am a man of principle either. He’s a Kool-Aid zombie doing the bidding of far left fanatics who will do anything to disparage me and FNC.
“Kool-Aid Zombie”? “Far left fanatics?” “I am a man of principle?” Sometimes, you really have to wonder if O’Reilly ever stops and listens to his rants. From what I can see, O’Reilly’s only real principal is relentless self-promotion and massaging own outsized ego. Truth may be the first casualty of war, but in Bill O’Reilly’s world, truth doesn’t even live long enough to make an appearance on The O’Reilly Factor, much less become a casualty. In O’Reilly’s world, truth doesn’t even live in the same time zone.
A rational person would recognize that name-calling is really only the last resort of a scoundrel, of someone so devoid of decency, honesty, and integrity that it’s the only weapon in his quiver. When you lack the wherewithal and intellectual chops to carry on a rational, reasonable debate, you resort to insults, name-calling, and screaming at your adversary. Yes, when you’re Bill O’Reilly, you make the rules…and since it’s your playpen, you can change them as needed. Ergo, you never have to worry about losing an argument.
Thus do ignorance, xenophobia, intolerance, and the Republican noise machine carry the day. Being a DUMB@$$ (and an asshole) means never having to say you’re sorry…because you never are.
