I do not subscribe to using the Koran in any way. The Muslim Representative from Minnesota was elected by the voters of that district and if American citizens don’t wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office and demanding the use of the Koran….The Ten Commandments and “In God We Trust” are on the wall in my office. A Muslim student came by the office and asked why I did not have anything on my wall about the Koran. My response was clear, “As long as I have the honor of representing the citizens of the 5th District of Virginia in the United States House of Representatives, The Koran is not going to be on the wall of my office.”
Keith Ellison’s mother should be proud of her son. I’ll bet she had NO idea that her son would be held to be such a threat to OUR WAY OF LIFE © and viewed with such abject hatred and suspicion by those willing to blame Islam for everything bad that happens to this country (Well…they were responsible for 9.11, right??). I wonder if the voters in Ellison’s district had any clue that they were enabling his pursuit of such a pronounced America-hating agenda?
Honestly, I find ignorant, hateful DUMB@$$E$ like Goode to be much more of a threat than Keith Ellison. When you allow your hatred, prejudice, and ignorance to fuel the decisions you make as a Congressman, you’re doing yourself and the American sheeple a disservice. Hatred, fear, and prejudice do nothing to advance the American cause. They do nothing to make our world a better place to be. Hatred, fear, and ignorance only serve to divide us and cause us to ignore the central American truth, which is that the whole has always been greater than the sum of the parts. America is not just a country owned by White Christians, and, not being one myself, I resent the attitude that this is a Christian nation and y’all can either conform or go to the back of the line.
Yes, Keith Ellison is a Muslim. When last I checked, though, America was still a country that guaranteed freedom of religion…and Ellison WAS elected by a majority of the voters in his district. While Virgil Goode is certainly free to hate and fear whomever he chooses (yet another aspect of a free country), as an elected Representative of his Congressional district, he does NOT have the right to attempt to project his hatred, ignorance, and prejudice as legitimate American values. The “Virgil Goode position” he advocates is nothing but a recipe for codified hatred, ignorance, and fear of those who dare to look, act, and believe differently than Virgil Goode.

Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA) issued a letter to constituents earlier this month in which he declares, “I fear that in the next century we will have many more Muslims in the United States” if we do not adopt “strict immigration policies.” The letter was inadvertently sent to a local progressive activist, who shared it with the C-Ville Weekly newspaper.
In the letter, Goode references the election of Muslim Rep.-elect Keith Ellison (D-MN), and warns “American citizens” to “wake up” or “there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office”….
Yes, and before you know it, Muslims will become an even bigger threat than Da Gayz and their HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA © …a force to be feared for their ability to recruit our children to their godless, evil, sinful, and non-reproductive way of life. For only when Americans live in fear of our angry, vindictive Almighty God will we truly be free.

As a proud and committed non-Christian, I resent Goode’s attitude that Christianity is the official American religion and only Christians are fit to serve as elected Representatives of the American sheeple. While Goode may be proud of his ignorant and offensive response to the Muslim student he mentioned, he ignores the reality that there are undoubtedly residents of his district who are Muslims. And what are they to make of Goode’s unreconstructed bigotry? That they do not matter? That their views and their votes are worth less than Christians? That their Congressman is a bigoted DUMB@$$?
Virgil Goode represents everything that is wrong with Christianity and the GOP today. Goode is as much about the teachings of Jesus Christ as Jeffrey Dahmer was about vegetarianism. His brand of Conservative, Christian Republicanism is little more than hatred, bigotry, and sheer ignorance wrapped in the flag and covered in a Bible.
