Another DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener

Talk Host Gallagher: ‚Äö√Ñ√≤Round Up’ Olbermann, Damon, And ‚Äö√Ñ√≤Put Them In A Detention Camp’

DUMB@$$ AWARD wieners #498: Mike Gallagher

Yesterday on Fox News, talk radio host Mike Gallagher said the U.S. government should “round up” actor Matt Damon, “The View” host Joy Behar, and MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann and “put them in a detention camp until this war is over because they’re a bunch of traitors.”….Gallagher was upset over Behar’s comment that Time magazine should have chosen a controversial “Hitler-type” like Donald Rumsfeld as its Person of the Year. Gallagher said Damon should also be incarcerated because he “attacked George Bush and Dick Cheney”; he didn’t explain why he wanted to imprison Olbermann.

Damn…you know, if it wasn’t for the whole “freedom of speech” thing, this country would be a much better place. It’s a sad state of affair, isn’t it? Any Tom, Dick, and Keith can say whatever treasonous BS comes into their pointy li’l haid, and no one can lay a hand on them. There oughta be a law…and thank Jeebus for brave, selfless souls like Mike Gallagher, whose willingness to stand up for White Conservative Christians from sea to shining sea and demand justice for the White Man is a thing of true and beauteous patriotism. Or a true, committed DUMB@$$.

The sad thing about Gallagher’s foaming-at-the-mouth diatribe is that he seems completely oblivious to a little thing we like to call the Bill of Rights, which, among other things, guarantees freedom of speech and expression. Of course, the great thing about freedom of speech and expression is that sometimes that freedom can get to be a bit messy, perhaps even offensively so. Hey, you don’t have to like it. You don’t even have to appreciate it. You DO have to respect it, however. The Constitution and the rule of law being what it generally is here in this country, not liking something is not considered sufficient grounds for suppressing it.

Memo to Mike Gallagher: enjoy your richly-deserved DUMB@$$ AWARD…and go pound sand, willya?
