Perhaps...but this is still a free country, and I'm not advocating anything, merely voicing an opinion. Nonetheless, I am aware that freedom of speech ain't what it used to be.
Yeah, I would definitely be expecting a visit from somebody driving a dark sedan. Will your wife be posting something if you are taken away, never to be heard from again?
On the one hand, I don't think Jack has much to worry about in terms of the photo itself. When I first saw the original I toyed with the idea of photoshopping it in the same way, but decided that thousands had probably already beat me to it. So even if the SS does investigate photos like this, it will probably take quite awhile for them to vist here.
On the other, the fact that we worry about this kind of government intrusion (even jokingly) is one more bit of evidence that we're creeping ever closer to a real police state.
Regulatory end-runs around protections "guaranteed" by the 4th Ammendment began decades ago and have increased ever since. Property can be legally siezed and sold prior to any finding of guilt. Police can legally search your property based on flimsy "facts" gained from informants who are too frequently active criminals. In Texas, to get a license to sell a legal substance (alcahol) one must "voluntarily" waive some important 4th Ammendment protections.
Again, I don't think Jack has much to worry about from the SS (but that could depend on how much time they spend in the TPRS archives;)
But if government thugs do come knocking on his door, I just hope he doesn't give them my address!
Don't worry, Bob; your secret safe with me...until the SS tortures it out of me...Ve haf vays of making you talk!!
Honestly, I would consider a visit from the Secret Service an honor. To think that someone actually sees me as a threat...well, my work here would be done, eh?? :0)
Dude!!!
I agree with 99.99999% of everything you say but I think you MAY have raised all kinds of red flags (no pun intended) at the Secret Service!!!
Be careful man!!!
Robert
