Today, weather permitting, we’ll be getting another addition to the family. He’s a rescue dog from a shelter in Corinth, MS- a chocolate Labradoodle puppy, and, if the picture is any clue, he’s cute as a button.
Of course, we need another dog like we need a hole in the head (this will make three), but better a dog than a baby (at least from where I sit). And, like most any other big decision, She Who Endures My Myriad Eccentrities and I are having some difficulties agreeing on a name. A couple of years ago, y’all helped us name Boo, The Official State Cat of Texas © . I’m once again going to ask for your help in the form of suggestions for names. My current favorite is “Speedbump”, hers is “Bailiff” (it goes with Judge, our other Labradoodle and The Official State Dog of Texas © ). She Who Endures My Myriad Eccentricities has issued a firm “Hell, no!” regarding “Speedbump”, and while I’m not opposed to “Bailiff”, neither am I enamored of the name- yet.
If you have suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments. I’ll announce the “winner” as soon as we can come to something resembling an agreement.
UPDATE (5.45pm): “Bailiff” it is. I had resisted naming the puppy until I met him, and once he arrived at about 4.30pm, it seemed clear that Bailiff fit. This will be our first “Three Dog Night” (for you ’70s holdovers), and it ought to be interesting….
