Austrian racer Schoenfelder skis naked to settle bet
WENGEN, Switzerland — Austrian World Cup skier Rainer Schoenfelder put the warm weather conditions in Europe to a true test on Wednesday when he went on a naked ski run alongside the famed Lauberhorn downhill course. The 29-year-old two-time Olympic bronze medalist and part-time pop musician was photographed skiing down a practice site wearing only his skis, ski boots and an orange helmet.
Man, just think of what might have happened had he lost his edge and took a spill. Uh…on second thought, let’s NOT think about it. It makes me uncomfortable just thinking about it, flying down the mountain with your little soldier flapping in the breeze. Man, is that a prescription for frostbite in all the wrong places or what?? The poor l’il guy might need some serious mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
And how long do you think it will be before the pictures show up on the Internet? Actually, by the time you’re reading this, they will undoubtedly be out there somewhere. Understandably, I’m not at all excited about seeing the pictures. Now if it were Eva Longoria we were talking about….
Truly, Rainer Schoenfelder is a braver man than I. Then again, the line between “brave” and “stupid” is all too often an exceedingly thin one.
