Surge (n.)- A politically acceptable word used to describe, in an appropriately patriotic manner, the escalation of a pointless, illegal, and immoral war

Bush: Iraqis must step up, U.S. role ‘not open-ended’

Bush Adds Troops in Bid to Secure Iraq: Says Iraqi Government Could Fall if America Steps Back Now

Bush to Send More Than 20,000 Troops to Iraq

President Bush conceded for the first time that there had not been enough American or Iraqi troops in Baghdad to halt the capital’s descent over the past year into chaos.

blood.jpgIn a move that was anticpated by…jeez, almost anyone with a brain, Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © announced last night that there will be an escalation a surge in American troop levels in Iraq. Admitting that the current effort in Iraq is a complete and total clusterf—k (though not quite in those exact words), Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © essentially promised that, if he could just throw a few more of our sons and daughters at the problem, things would be all better, and Iraq will turn into one big victory cakewalk. Yes, only 20,000 more of our sons and daughters being used as IED fodder, and America will be regarded as the glorious and benevolent liberator we all know our great country to be. Just 20,000 more of our sons and daughters (some of whom will come home in boxes), and we’ll be able to turn Iraq into the democracy capitol of the Middle East. Yes, before you know it, Iraq will look just like a suburb of Detroit…only with the automobile factories. AND we’ll be universally loved and respected!!

I didn’t watch but the first 45 seconds of Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader’s © speech. I was busy digging the lint out of my belly button. As soon as I heard “When I last spoke to yuh….”, I tuned out. My God, the man cannot even speak English…and we’re supposed to agree to allow him to kill more of our sons and daughters? By all rights, Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © should be standing in the well of the Senate, defending himself against impeachment charges…and now he wants to escalate his own personal Vietnam even further? How long do we allow him to continue channeling LBJ and Richard Nixon? Isn’t the definition of insanity repeating the same actions while somehow expecting different results??

My God, people…we have enough money to continue waging a senseless war-without-end-Amen in Iraq…yet we do not have enough money to ensure Homeland Security, fight cancer, deal with the scourge of homelessness…or any of the myriad legitimate problems this country faces. When do we call BS and demand an end to the senseless, meaningless sacrifice of our sons and daughters to Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader’s © legacy.

NOW CAN WE IMPEACH THE LYING, MURDERING BASTARD?
