Adultery could mean life, court finds

For those of us worried that government has entirely too much power over the conduct of our personal and private lives, I offer up this sacrifice. As if you needed another reason to NOT move to Michigan….

Man, if this isn’t a shining example of official oppression and the misuse of government power, I don’t know what is. While no reasonable person would endorse adultery as a good thing or even a net benefit to society, there is no good reason why anyone who engages in a bit of extra-marital nookie should be sentenced life in prison. Thinking with the wrong head may not be a good thing. It may even be a reprehensible thing. But is it a criminal thing? If it is, we’re in even more trouble than I’d feared.

How long before they’re in our bedrooms? Uh…it would seem that in Michigan, they’re already there.
