Left spews deadly venom over Tony Snow’s cancer: ‘He is pure lying scum and should die ASAP!’
Moments after White House Press Secretary Tony Snow’s new personal battle against cancer became public yesterday, a vicious assault was launched at left-leaning websites, with some message posters hoping for a swift death for the presidential spokesman….”Under the heading of ‘What goes around comes around’, the cancer in Tony Snow is removing the cancer of Tony Snow from the national scene,” wrote TDoff on the D.C. gossip site Wonkette.com. Omnilation wrote, “Dear Tony, I hate you. -God.” A contributor called homofascist stated, “It is a bitch that I wouldn’t wish upon even a smarmy, evil f—-face liar like Snow. Because really, isn’t he OUR smarmy, evil f—-face liar?”
Yes, it’s true that Tony Snow IS lying scum. His job involves spinning, lying, and propagandizing for The Worst President EVER © - and he’s exceedingly good at it. The man can lie with a straight face and act as if it’s the most natural thing in the world. It’s a detestable role that he plays, but it is only a role. Behind all our professional faces lies the real person- and by all indications Tony Snow is a decent enough person. This is, of course, apropos of nothing- except to serve as a reminder that politics is politics…it’s not life, and there can be no doubt as to which is more important.
On a professional level, Tony Snow IS lying scum. Then again, he’s paid to spin, prevaricate, and propagandize in order to “protect” the President. Sadly, there are those on my side of the aisle who lack the simple human decency to recognize Snow’s humanity. The man has a family, and he doesn’t deserve this. Before I go off and condemn any, though, let’s not forget that there are at least as many trolls on the Right who would be wishing the same ill will upon a Democrat fighting cancer. For the idiots at World Net Daily to engage in any amount of weeping and gnashing of teeth is hypocritical and disingenuous, to say the least.
I wish Tony Snow well, if for no other reason than I’m a compassionate human being grateful that I’m not fighting the battle he is. I abhor his politics and his ability and willingness to lie and propagandize with a straight face, but I harbor no personal hatred for the man (his boss, however, is another story). To those of you nutjobs on the Left (and the Right) who can’t make the distinction between politics and reality, I can only hope that you don’t someday find yourself fighting a battle similar to Tony Snow’s.
Politics is politics. This is life and death we’re talking about here, and if you can’t recognize or understand the difference, I’m not so certain that I want you on my side.
